Pentagon collaborated with DHL Express at Retail Without Borders in Tokyo

We Are Pentagon collaborated with DHL Express at last month’s Retail Without Borders conference in Tokyo.

Pentagon’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, Dilyana Gramadarova set the stage for the conference theme – borderless commerce. The theme continued throughout the conference with presentations from global marketplaces eBay, Rakuten and Newegg. Keynote topics also incorporated this theme, with Ayumi Kusaba from JETRO (Japan External Trade Organisation) discussing ‘International expansion through cross-border ecommerce’, DHL Express Japan’s Masayuki Minezaki exploring ‘How to simplify international logistics’ and WorldFirst’s Keisho Cho advising ‘How to retain your margins when selling internationally’.

Panel sessions with industry experts, from KungFu Data, ProductsUp, ZigZag Global, We Are Pentagon and Opti, explored ‘How online marketplaces have changed the way consumers shop’ and ‘The importance of constant innovation’.

The conference was fantastically well received by the 300+ Japanese delegates, with 94% (of those surveyed) stating the topics discussed at Retail Without Borders Tokyo were interesting and 70% saying they would recommend the conference to a friend or colleague.


“Retail Without Borders is a great event for companies that are planning cross-border ecommerce because they can hear in-depth information not heard anywhere else in Japan,” said a luxury fashion retailer.


“If you can’t decide which ecommerce event to attend, I strongly suggest you participate in Retail Without Borders. The most attractive and beneficial aspect of the event is the sellers and participants are borderless,” said Ikumi Nakashima, Marketing Manager at Rakuten.
