INTERNATIONAL RETURNS SOLUTION, ZIGZAG GLOBAL, WINS 2016 INNOVATION PITCH OFF AT THE WORLD RETAIL CONGRESS

ZigZag Global is delighted to have won the 2016 Innovation Pitch Off at the World Retail Congress in Dubai. The competition showcases and rewards excellence in innovation across a range of groundbreaking products and services.

This is the tenth year of the World Retail Congress, which attracted 1000 delegates including senior retailers and leaders in related industries. The WRC is the pinnacle of the retail industry and this year’s keynote speaker was Tommy Hilfiger.

Competitors from all over the world were shortlisted to just eight entries for the final round of judging. Finalists were from France, Ireland, US, Israel, India, UK the US. Judges spent time analysing each software solution and interviewing the candidates before each company took to the stage to present their solutions in front the retail audience.

Recognition Of Excellence In Innovation

Speaking about the selection of the Innovation Award winners judge Daniel Bobroff, Entrepreneur and CEO of FashionTech Ventures said ‘competition was strong, and judging was a challenge… We asked the retailers in the audience to participate too. This is an extremely tough category with some really interesting new businesses that will shape the future of retail in years to come. We also wanted to give special mention to Sizer, but after considering all the pitches the judges were unanimous in their decision to select ZigZag as the overall winner as we felt ZigZag addresses a real problem for international retailers.’

Other judges were Sarah Jones – Founder & CEO at Mini Exchange, Ken Seiff – Managing Partner at Beanstalk Ventures, a NY-based venture fund and Isabelle Kenyon – Chief Operating Officer, Hill House Home.

The returns portal offers a complete software solution that simply plugs into a returns page on a retailer’s website, and helps route and warehouse returns intelligently – where there is demand for that product. The innovative solution was recognised for being able to improve the customer experience with faster refunds and help retailers get stock back in the supply chain more quickly, turning returns into a revenue stream.
