As part of Rakuten’s Overseas Sales Strategy group, Shunsuke is responsible for new merchant acquisition and account management for overseas merchants within Rakuten’s cross-border initiatives.
Prior to taking charge of cross-border business manager, Shunsuke initially entered Rakuten as EC Consultant Manager in which he was responsible for maximising online sales of Rakuten’s clients through the implementation of best practices in Rakuten Ichiba. Before Shunsuke joined Rakuten, he was a founding member of Tokyo Trading Co. Ltd., a trading company helping Japanese companies to reach around the world.
Shunsuke holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Aoyama Gakuin University.
Rakuten is Japan’s largest e-commerce marketplace, with over 105 million registered users, over £21 billion annual gross transaction volume, and over 27% of the total e-commerce market share in Japan. Rakuten’s cross-border e-commerce program makes it easy for merchants around the world to sell directly to Japanese customers. By removing barriers such as language, payments, and logistics, Rakuten is expanding cross-border e-commerce from the UK to Japan.
